We caught up with Matty Lees ahead of our Super League round 25 against the Leigh Leopards in our heritage celebration fixture.
He spoke about being back in the team following a couple of weeks out through suspension, and how the couple of weeks probably helped him but he’s been enjoying playing bigger minutes so far this year.
With the emergence of George Delaney through injuries to key personnel this year, Matty has had to become something of a mentor to the young prop, and he’s revelling in that opportunity. His mentioned how he has been passing down all the knowledge handed to him by Alex Walmsley when he was coming through
Given a couple of disappointing results against the Leopards this year, he spoke about needing an improved performance, and how the fans will be imporant to that, but also needing to not react to them, and just play our game.
