Paul Wellens spoke to the press following our victory over the Warrington Wolves away from home as we kept pace withe Wigan and Catalans at the top of the table.
Paul was happy with the first half in particular as we took the game to them, but was somewhat disappointed with the start of the second half as we let them back into the game. However, with the win secured, He was happy to keep consistent in results following wins over Leigh and now Warrington.
Despite Curtis Sironen not returning to the field, Paul said that isn’t cause for concern, and limiting his playing time was always part of the plan. He also said they the squad looks to have come through the game okay without any concerns.
With time running out on the career of James Roby, Paul called on the whole of the Rugby League world, not just saints fans, to enjoy watching him while they still can.
There are a number of different possible outcomes after next weeks game against Hull FC, and Paul said we’re ready for all the possibilities, and we’re just going to keep playing our game.
Over 3,000 Saints fans filled the away end at the Halliwell Jones, and Paul gave his thanks to all of them, including his son, all his family, and his friends. He went on to say they their support really does make a difference, and if he weren’t where he is, he’d be in there too.
