Tonga will make their return to the Totally Wicked Stadium later this month as Kristian Woolf's men kick-off the International Series vs England.
England will face Tonga in a three-test series – the first ever international series between the two nations and the first time they have met since 2017’s memorable Rugby League World Cup Semi-Final in Auckland which England closed out in slim fashion, 20-18.
Tickets are on sale now for the series opener at the Totally Wicked Stadium, Sunday 22 October (kick-0ff 2.30pm)
With three-time Super League winning coach Kristian Woolf at the helm and outstanding players from both Super League and the NRL, Tonga will bring incredible passion and scintillating skills which they showed at RLWC2021 when they captivated crowds with their pre-match Sipi Tau war dance and brilliant on-field performances, only narrowly missing out on a Semi-Final place to Samoa.
The stage is set for a thrilling test series for Shaun Wane’s England and the chance for them to show their mettle against one of the very best sides in international Rugby League.
The match continues to close association of St.Helens with the Tongan RL team. The Club has helped to develop a series of initiatives to support Tonga in the aftermath of the devastating volcanic eruption in January 2022, as well as cheering on our own Tongan stars wearing the RedV including Konrad Hurrell, Will Hopoate and Agnatius Paasi.
