Shona Hoyle leaves Saints to join Rhinos

St.Helens can confirm following the conclusion of the 2023 season that Shona Hoyle will be departing the Club

Hoyle played a big part for the Red V in 2023, which resulted in a Woman of Steel nomination at the end of season Rugby League Awards. The Saints’ #8 was nominated alongside fellow Saints and England international Jodie Cunningham and Emily Rudge, Leeds Rhinos’ Keara Bennett, and York Valkyrie’s Tara-Jane Stanley, and the eventual winner, Sinead Peach.

After joining from Huddersfield during the 2022 season, the prop forward scored an impressive 16 tries in 17 games for the club, adding to the three tries she grabbed for the club in 2022.

Hoyle was a part of the history making side that was victorious over Leeds Rhinos at Wembley in August, scoring a try in the 8-22 victory for the Saints.

She most recently featured for England on Saturday, scoring in a 60-0 victory for her country.
