St.Helens First Team Head Coach Paul Wellens, alongside members of his Coaching Staff, this week hosted a Saints Coaching Workshop with fellow coaches across all our teams at the Club.
Organized also with the Saints’ Coaching Systems & Education Manager Craig Richards, the purpose of the event was to collaborate and share working habits and ideas when working with athletes.
Representatives from our Reserves, Academy, Scholarship, Women’s and Women’s U19s coaching staff were present in a strong and wonderful example of working together as one club.
Wellens was joined by First Team staff; Strength & Conditioning Coach Adam Daniels, and Sport Scientist Ben Edwards.
Daniels & Edwards discussed the intricacies of the elite Super League pre-season preparation, the routines and measurements used to assess and develop the team ready for the start of a new season, before going into more regular in-season expectations and standards.
Thought provoking questions and discussions were raised, and then Wellens himself shared a bit of his own coaching journey and detailed more about his own personal coaching beliefs as we get into the swing of Betfred Super League 2024.
It comes also on the back of Wellens, Daniels and Edwards also hosting a similar workshop but with our local community clubs in the region, who provide vital development to the stars of the future.
