Back-to-back home games for St.Helens as we play host to Salford Red Devils on Friday, 8th March, with kick-off at the Totally Wicked Stadium at 8pm!
Paul Wellens’ men have made a perfect start to the new Betfred Super League season, winning the first three matches to go top of the very early league table. Paul Rowley’s Salford side have two wins from their opening exchanges and will be keen to impress further their intent to compete in the competition in 2024.
Last Friday night the Red V took on the 2023 Challenge Cup holders Leigh Leopards in what was a physical, bruising encounter with big collisions and aggression from both on display. Jack Welsby and Tommy Makinson scored tries, with Mark Percival added a conversion and a penalty to beat out the Leythers 12-4.
Saints saw off London Broncos comfortably 40-4 on the opening night, and put in a professional performance away at Huddersfield Giants to win 0-28 in Round 2. Can St.Helens make it four wins from four? Salford will be out to stop the Red V charge.
The Red Devils commenced their campaign away at Leeds being edged out 22-16, but got their first win of the year against Castleford at home and held off a late fightback by the Tigers in the second week. Last Saturday evening Marc Sneyd was at the heart of a good victory for Salford over Hull KR, kicking a clutch drop goal to see out the game 17-10.

Ahead of the new season the Saints faced Salford in a friendly fixture, with both sides making wholesale line-up changes during it. However, it was a positive afternoon for the Red V, beating the Red Devils 52-10 and a number of our aspiring young players stepping up and shining.
