On Wednesday, St.Helens Women held a media event at the Totally Wicked Stadium, announcing match payments for the first time!
Members of our first team squad were made available for the media event at the Totally Wicked Stadium. It was the first time that the news had been publicly discussed, with it first being announced on Sky Sports’ ‘The Verdict’ with Jodie Cunningham joining Jenna Brooks and Jon Wilkin;
Vice Captains Emily Rudge and Tara Jones joined Chairman Eamonn McManus and Head Coach Matty Smith on the top table. Beri Salihi, Chantelle Crowl, Leah Burke and Zoe Harris all joined their team-mates for the big announcement, with all seven talking to the press during the afternoon.
The big news was showcased around the country, with the likes of BBC Sport and ITV joining Sky Sports in their announcements of the news.
