Coming up this week for the Saints!

It's a busy week for the Red V as we have four teams in action in the coming days, with our scholars, reserves, women and first-team all in action.

First up is our scholarship side, as they take on the Warrington Wolves at Blackbrook, before our reserves take to the field against Wakefield at The Totally Wicked Stadium.

Then on the same day, our first team will take on the Catalans Dragons over in the South of France, and our Women’s side will close the weekend taking on the Warrington Wolves away from home.

WEDNESDAY

Scholarship vs Warrington Wolves (H)

A first home match-up for our scholarship side awaits as they take on the Warrington Wolves at Blackbrook Rugby Club.

Our youngest team will play their second game of the season as they look to build on all their performance away from home last time out against the Wigan Warriors

  • Wednesday, 3rd April 2024
  • Kick off 6pm
  • Blackbrook, St Helens, WA11 9BB

SATURDAY

Reserves vs Wakefield (H)

Derek Hardman’s reserves will take on Wakefield Trinity in what will be their third game of the campaign so far, and will be played at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The season started brilliantly for the reserves with a 64-16 victory over the Salford Red Devils, but a close loss to Leeds at home leaves us needing to make up some ground, and Hardman’s side will be hoping to right the wrongs of the Leeds game as we welcome Wakefield to The Totally Wicked Stadium.

First Team vs Catalans (A)

In what is sure to be a tough encounter, we’ll take on the Catalans Dragons away from home in a repeat of last year’s Super League semi-final, and we’ll be looking to make sure we come out on top this time and maintain our place at the top of the league, backing up our victory last time out over the Wigan Warriors, as we handed them their first loss of the season.

Catalans come into the game off the back of a win over the Warrington Wolves, and having won four of their last five will be looking to stake their own claim to the top spot in the table.

SUNDAY

Women vs Warrington Wolves (A)

Matty Smith will be hoping to keep our perfect record to start the year intact as we face the Warrington Wolves in what is sure to be our toughest contest of the year to date as we continue our Challenge Cup Group Stage run. It’ll be our first run out since our 64-0 victory over the London Broncos following Bradford having to cancel our away fixture, so we’ll head into the game fresh, and hoping to put into action some of the extra work we’ve been able to put in on the training ground.

Warrington come into the game having just beaten the London Broncos themselves 24-6 in the Capital, and so will be looking to build on that result and performance in this, the latest round of Women’s Challenge Cup action, with the winner claiming top spot in the group, and a home Quarter-Final.

  • Sunday, 7th April 2024
  • Kick off 12:00pm
  • Victoria Park, Warrington
  • Match entry prices: Adults – £5, Concessions – £2
