Quarter-Final Cup clash squad announced

Paul Wellens has locked in his 21-man squad for this Sunday’s Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter-Final home fixture against Warrington Wolves, which kicks off at 4:30pm at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The Saints are looking to book their spot in the final four of rugby league’s most historic knockout competition for a fourth straight season. Sunday’s fixture will mark the First Team’s first home fixture in this competition with crowds since 2019. Our last home Challenge Cup draw was back in 2021 during the Covid pandemic without supporters in the stands.

After being just narrowly beaten in the South of France last Saturday evening, St.Helens will be aiming to get back to winning ways against one of our local neighbouring Super League sides. The Wolves are in a positive mood following an away victory at Leeds Rhinos last Friday too.

Head Coach Wellens makes just one change to the squad that was announced for last week’s away match against Catalans Dragons. Jake Wingfield is set to miss out due to a shoulder issue which is expected to see him miss a few weeks of action as the Club awaits further checks.

Waqa Blake, who missed last week’s 21-man selection but featured in our Reserves’ victory over Wakefield Trinity last weekend, returns to Wellen’s named side.

Should Jake Burns or Noah Stephens feature in Sunday’s match they would be making their official St.Helens debuts.
