Dual-Registration & Loan Recap

A quick report of our St.Helens players who have been out on dual-registration or loan this past weekend (13th-14th April).

Three Saints were on duty over the weekend, here’s how they got on…

Whitehaven 12-25 Batley Bulldogs – Brett Bailey

Coming off the bench for his debut with Whitehaven on Sunday afternoon, Bailey made it one to remember as well with a try! The prop off a short ball near the line powered over with three Bulldogs defenders looking to stop him but he got to ground and scored well.

It would not be enough though for Haven, as they fell to a home loss to Batley – the visitors’ first victory in the Betfred Championship in 2024.

Keighley Cougars 22-6 North Wales Crusaders – Jake Burns

Burns started at hooker for the Crusaders away fixture at Keighley, it would be a loss for North Wales though – their first of the Betfred League One season.

It saw the young nine return to the club he played at late last season in the Crusaders’ remarkable run to the League One Play-Off Final.

Swinton Lions 4-22 Sheffield Eagles – Jonny Vaughan

Whilst he did not feature in the match, Vaughan was part of our dual-registration partners’ matchday squad as the 18th man.

Swinton grabbed a memorable win over Toulouse back in Round 3 of the Championship but could not make it back-to-back victories falling to a strong Sheffield performance.
