A quick report on which St.Helens players have been out on dual-registration or on loan this past weekend (20th & 21st April).
Four Saints have been out and about on other duties on Saturday and Sunday, here’s your recap on how they got on…
Swinton Lions 50-22 Dewsbury Rams – Tee Ritson & Jonny Vaughan
The Lions recorded a huge home win on Sunday afternoon over fellow Betfred Championship side Dewsbury, and our two Saints struck quite the wing/centre partnership on the right. Ritson grabbed himself two tries, one in each half with Vaughan the provider for the first with a smart flick-on pass.
The Cumbrian speedster’s second try has to be seen, a Dec Patton kick in the dying moments went perfectly into the space in front of Ritson, he took it well and then put the afterburners on to finish it.
It was great to see former Saint Josh Eaves also scoring a Swinton try, in what was his 100th career match! Well done Josh! 👏
North Wales Crusaders 36-37 Rochdale Hornets – Jake Burns
For the second week running, Burns started at hooker for the Crusaders in their home match against Rochdale and it was a thriller which the visiting Hornets managed to snatch away at the death.
Our young hooker went over for a try too with ten minutes left too to give North Wales the lead, but Rochdale’s Lameck Juma grabbed a four-pointer and Martin Ridyard added the conversion. The former Leigh pivot Ridyard was decisive in the result, his earlier drop goal just before half-time proving to be the difference.
Toulouse Olympique 40-4 Whitehaven – Brett Bailey
It was a trip to the South of France for Bailey in the second week of his initial two-week loan, but it was a tough result as the French outfit put in one of their best performances of the season so far in front of their own supporters at the Stade Ernest Wallon.
Brett came off the bench on Saturday, as he did last week on his try-scoring debut for Haven.
