A quick report on which of our St.Helens players have been out on dual-registration or loan this past weekend (27th & 28th April).
Four Saints have been out and about on other duties on Saturday and Sunday, here’s your recap on how they got on…
Halifax Panthers 12-28 Swinton Lions – Tee Ritson & Jonny Vaughan
The Lions backed up their big home win over Dewsbury Rams last week with an impressive away result at The Shay against the Panthers. Both Ritson & Vaughan started for Alan Kilshaw’s side and put in another great showing like they did last week.
Working together on Swinton’s right-edge they combined to create the opening score to Mitch Cox.
Jonny got on the score sheet just before the break too, getting on the end of a kick to touch down and score with what is becoming a trademark rolly polly style. Tee in the second half made a brilliant kick return from near his own line and relieving the pressure by moving Swinton up to their own 40.
Hunslet 22-14 North Wales Crusaders
It was a third week in a row starting at hooker for Burns with the Crusaders in their away match against Hunslet, a frantic final ten minutes saw the hosts claw their way back from 12-14 down to win 22-14 thanks to two late tries, one of which was converted.
Whitehaven 24-28 Featherstone Rovers – Brett Bailey
Continuing his loan spell with Whitehaven, Bailey for a third week was part of Whitehaven’s match day squad, coming off the bench against one of the heavily fancied teams in the Championship.
Haven made a real battle of the match, scoring a try in the dying moments to set up a tense finish but the visitors took away the spoils.
