Tommy Makinson's intercept and Phoebe Hook's incredible evasive skills were enough to land the Try of the Month tag for April!
For the first team we put four of our favourite tries from April, a month with a tough run of fixtures, to a vote, and you picked this eye-catcher from Tommy Makinson!
Our final game of the month, one in which we needed to put in a performance, and we found ourselves two scores down with with half-time approaching. A try was needed to change the balance, and up stepped Tommy Makinson.
With Huddersfield looking to stretch the play, they passed a line ball out to the wing, and Tommy jumped in to intercept and pick up our first score of the game!

This effort from Phoebe Hook though was the pick of the bunch. A last tackle play late into the first half saw the ball go to Faye Gaskin. She put a kick into the wing, and Phoebe Hook came down with the ball, but with work to do. Spinning away from one tackler, and then beats a second, and out paces the cover defence to touch down.
What a way to get the women’s Try of the Month going for 2024! Well done Phoebe.
