We have three St.Helens teams in match action this week, including the big game for our Women's side as they bid to reach Wembley!
All this week’s action starts midweek on Wednesday when our Women’s Academy are on the road to face Wigan for a derby day clash.
We then have two matches on Saturday, firstly our Women’s First Team are 80 minutes away from returning to Wembley and booking their spot in the Challenge Cup Final when they face York. In the afternoon our Reserves are away at Castleford Tigers.

WEDNESDAY
Women’s Academy vs Wigan Warriors (A)
Our developing Women’s players in our Under 19s Academy will play their second fixture of the 2024 season on Wednesday night, as they travel to Wigan Warriors. With a number of our senior Women’s squad fitting the age bracket, they could feature in the midweek match.
Our Academy outfit will be aiming to make it back-to-back wins after beating Warrington Wolves away 0-72 on April 24th, and what a game to get motivated for with The Derby against our old foes Wigan.
- Wednesday, 15th April
- Kick off 6:30pm
- St Jude’s RLFC, Keats Ave, WN3 5UB
- Free Entry – donations for the community club are welcomed
SATURDAY
Women vs York Valkyrie (Semi-Final)
Matty Smith’s Saints will face York Valkyrie for the second season running in the Challenge Cup Semi-Finals, having beaten the same opposition 17-16 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in 2023. This time the two sides will clash in Doncaster, at the Eco-Power Stadium, knowing a win puts them into the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 8th June 2024.
Saints retained the trophy in 2023 with a 8-22 victory over Leeds Rhinos at Wembley Stadium, and are aiming to win the trophy for a fourth year in a row in 2024.
Our Women’s team head into the match in strong form having beaten Huddersfield and Featherstone in convincing fashion in the Women’s Super League, and between those two victories the Saints topped Group 2 of the Nines Competition to book a spot in the Nines Finals Day later in the summer.
- Saturday, 18th May 2024
- Kick off 11:15am
- Eco-Power Stadium, Doncaster, DN4 5JW
- Ticket details are available HERE – supporters will also be able to watch Hull KR vs Wigan Warriors in the first Men’s Challenge Cup Semi-Final at 1:45pm
Reserves vs Castleford Tigers (A)
Derek Hardman’s Reserves are the third Saints team to head over to The Jungle in just over a week and we will be aiming to make it three wins across the board after our First Team beat Cas 4-60, and the Academy won 6-72.
Our Red V have won three matches in the Reserves Championship so far in 2024 over Salford, Wakefield and then Hull FC last time out. The game against the Black & Whites was a bruising and physical battle which St.Helens did well in defence to keep Hull out to win 18-12 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
