St.Helens First Team return to action on Friday, 5th July at the Totally Wicked Stadium and will host Castleford Tigers in Round 16 of Betfred Super League 2024.
Following the international break, the Saints return home and will play their first home match since May with the brand-new pitch being played on for the very first time.
Work on the new surface began immediately following St.Helens’ victory over Catalans Dragons in May, with the huge project seeing that our pitch becomes a high-performance, Premier League standard pitch ahead of Liverpool FC Women playing their fixtures at our home stadium too.
Saints will be eager to bounce back after suffering a tight and narrow defeat away at Salford Red Devils last time out, 20-18. With the top of the table race very tight, the Red V will be rallying round to earn back their spot at the top of Betfred Super League.
Our visitors on the 5th of July, the Castleford Tigers, are showing plenty of spirit in the longer term project under Head Coach Craig Lingard and have picked up a couple of morale boosting wins. However in recent weeks they have some promising signs running both Wigan and Hull KR very close, losing by two and then one point respectively.
Saints secured a big away win at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle in May, besting the Tigers 4-60 with a strong second half showing despite going down a man early on due to a red card.
