This week for the Saints

It is St.Helens versus Warrington Wolves week! Three of our sides are taking on one of our nearby neighbours in a big week of rugby league at the Totally Wicked Stadium!

A double header on Friday night gets the Saints started this week, our Academy up first, followed by the First Team. Then on Saturday afternoon our Women’s team host their first home fixture since May!

See the key information for all three matches below.

FRIDAY

Academy vs Warrington Wolves (H)

In a repeat of the 2023 Academy Championship Grand Final, the Saints Under 18s will take on the Wolves Under 18s, with kick-off at 5:15pm.

Derek Traynor’s Academy Saints are on a five match winning run, the latest of which was a big 0-46 away day victory over Hull KR at Sewell Group Craven Park ahead of the Robins’ taking on Catalans Dragons on a Saturday afternoon, so an impressive result in very hostile territory.

The Red V sit atop the Academy Championship table, level on points with Wigan but with a significantly better points difference. Get down to the ground, see our next generation of Saints stars and give them your support!

  • Friday, 19th July 2024
  • Kick-off at 5:15pm – turnstiles open from 4:45pm
  • Totally Wicked Stadium, WA9 3AL
  • Match tickets are available online at eticketing.co.uk/saintsrlfc

First Team vs Warrington Wolves (H)

It will be Round 18 of Betfred Super League 2024, and the first league meeting between the two local foes in 2024.

The Saints are doing it tough on the injury front, but Paul Wellens’ team showed exactly the sort of effort that is expected and demanded by this Club in the last round against the league leaders Wigan.

On a run of three defeats, all narrow and tight by four points or less, the Red V return home highly motivated to get back to winning ways, give our loyal supporters a strong performance, and get a small bit of revenge back over the team that knocked Saints out of the Challenge Cup earlier in the year.

  • Friday, 19th July 2024
  • Kick-off at 8pm
  • Totally Wicked Stadium, WA9 3AL
  • Match tickets are available online at eticketing.co.uk/saintsrlfc

SATURDAY

On a winning run of eight matches across all competitions, the Saints Women are back at home for the first time since May!

The four-times-in-a-row Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup winners take on Warrington Wolves in the league, having already played them in the Cup and besting them by a huge 6-58 scoreline. It is tight at the top of the Betfred Women’s Super League table, with Saints, Leeds, Wigan and York all level on points, however St.Helens and the Valkyrie have a game in hand to play.

Matty Smith’s troops secured a vital win over Wigan last Friday night in the first derby to be played at the home stadium of the Warriors, live on Sky Sports. Now, they return to the Totally Wicked Stadium and look to keep up the fight for the top spot, and the League Leader’s Shield.
