- 5:00pm – Wigan Warriors v St Helens
- 7:30pm – Warrington Wolves v Leeds Rhinos
For the seventh time at Betfred Super League’s annual summer festival of rugby, the Saints are meeting Wigan and both teams will be motivated not only for the local bragging rights, but to get an important two points on the league table.
Paul Wellens’ Saints head into Round 22 in fourth place, on the back of two wins in a row, and are now looking to stretch that run to three victories but know that we come up against a very tough opposition in the reigning Super League and World Club champions.
Matt Peet’s Wigan have now caught up on their game in hand and are second in the table but level on points with Hull KR at the top. However, the Warriors go to Elland Road on the back of a big loss to Leeds last Saturday which has sparked life back into the Rhinos’ campaign.
Meetings between Saints and the Warriors are always fixtures that the entire rugby league world looks out for as it is the original rugby league Derby between two fierce rivals.
