A quick report on which of our St.Helens players have been out on dual-registration or loan this past weekend (17th & 18th August).
Three of our Saints were on duty for other clubs on the weekend just gone, so here is your recap on what they got up to…
Swinton Lions 20-6 Halifax – Leon Cowen
Starting at loose-forward, Cowen played his part in a big home victory for the Lions who took an early 6-0 lead which they turned into 10-0 just after the twenty minute mark. The next score though would not come until nearly fifteen minutes before full time to make it 14-0, with both sides throwing plenty at one another. In the final ten, a final four-pointer which got converted all but confirmed a victory, save for a Gareth Widdop consolation score.
Hunslet 28-20 North Wales Crusaders – Ben Lanes & Alfie Sinclair
It was a start at fullback for Lane, whilst Saints Reserves player Sinclair brought some forward punch off the bench for the Crusaders. The Welsh outfit lost out to a resilient Hunstlet side who came from 0-18 down to win 28-20.
Lane opened the try scoring with a waltz through the line after North Wales’ early pressure, adding the first of his four conversions, one from a penalty.
