St.Helens head to Huddersfield Giants on Sunday afternoon (1st September), with kick-off scheduled for 3:05pm.

A reminder that St.Helens Women are also taking on Huddersfield Giants at Laund Hill, with kick-off scheduled at 12pm. Entry is £6 for Adults – £2 for Under 16s.

St.Helens have been given unreserved seated tickets in the Magic Rock Brewing South Stand of the John Smith Stadium with tickets located in Blocks S5 & S6.

  • Under 5’s – Free but require a ticket

There will be no cash turnstiles for supporters, the Ticket Office will accept card and cash, but large queues are expected on match day with the Giants recommending you book online through their ticketing site.

📰 SQUAD NEWS

Paul Wellens makes two changes to the squad he last declared with Tommy Makinson and Will Roberts stepping out of the previous squad.

Morgan Knowles after serving a two-match suspension is now back available for selection, and youngster Leon Cowen also comes in, and should he be selected to play against the Giants he would make his official Super League and Club debut.

Interim Head Coach of Huddersfield Luke Robinson has named his squad with Sam Halsall out due to needing surgery on an injured wrist, and Jake Connor is unavailable due to a knee injury, both will miss what remains of the Giants’ season.

Winger Elliot Wallis, prop Joe Greenwood and half-back Adam Clune return to the fold for Huddersfield.

💬 COACH PREVIEW

In his update on the availability of his squad, Wellens talked about a big positive in having Morgan Knowles returning to the fold after serving his two-match suspension notice, and that Alex Walmsley may be in contention too after missing out last week due to a hip flexor issue.

The Saints boss insisted that Huddersfield continue to be a dangerous opponent despite them missing out on the play-offs and suffering a heavy loss last weekend.

😇 WOMEN’S TEAM SQUAD NEWS

Matty Smith has named his 21-woman squad to travel to West Yorkshire on Sunday to face Huddersfield Giants Women, making two changes to his squad with Erin Stott and Paige Travis replacing Faye Gaskin and Emily Rudge.

Saints are currently on a twelve-game winning run across all competitions. Their only defeat of the 2024 season came against York Valkyrie in the opening league game of the year back in April.

It is the third meeting between the two sides in the 2024 season, first meeting in the Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter-Final, a game Saints won 74-0. Two weeks later, the Red V ran riot in a 60-6 victory in the Betfred Women’s Super League at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

A reminder that this Women’s match on Sunday gets underway at 12pm Huddersfield YMCA RUFC, Laund Hill. Tickets are available on the gate priced at £6 for Adults and £2 for Juniors wishingto attend the game.
