Lees free to play against Tigers

Following a meeting with the Operational Rules Tribunal tonight (Tuesday, 10th September 2024), Matty Lees will now be available to play for St.Helens at this Friday's Betfred Super League home match against Castleford Tigers.

The Saints’ #10 was originally issued with a Grade B ‘Contact with the Match Official’ charge from the second minute of our Round 25 fixture last Saturday afternoon against Warrington Wolves and given a one-match penalty notice.

Following the meeting tonight, the Operational Rules Tribunal downgraded the charge to a Grade A, this resulted in the one-match suspension being lifted, however a £250 fine remains for Lees.

Friday night at the Totally Wicked Stadium is set to be an exciting one with double the action as our Women’s team take on Barrow Raiders Ladies in the final regular season round, and the team will lift the League Leaders’ Shield following the fixture. Meanwhile our First Team are looking to cement a spot in the play-offs and beat the Tigers in our final regular home round of the year. Furthermore, it will be modern-day Club legend Tommy Makinson’s final regular home match.
