Following our confirmation as league leaders with a win over Wakefield last time out, the format turned to knockout rugby as we looked to confirm our place in the Grand Final, and ensure a home final against the Wigan Warriors who had already confirmed their place.
Hull, who had finished the season in fourth, would be hoping to beat the odds and make it to the final themselves, and following back to back big wins over Castleford and Hull KR, they would be full of confidence coming into the game.
