St Helens R.F.C is delighted to confirm our latest Academy recruits, who will progress into the Club's Academy System for the 2025 and 2026 seasons!
Over the last week, the Club has been welcoming the latest group of young men who join our two-year Academy programme on our social media accounts, and we are thrilled to confirm our full intake for this coming year.
At half-time of St.Helens’ final regular home game of the 2024 Betfred Super League season against Castleford Tigers, we welcomed all twelve of the young men to be introduced to our supporters on the pitch, and to have a group photograph at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Having all come through Scholarship systems, the twelve players will now progress into the Saints Academy Under 18s programme, with the hard work starting already in training. Our current Academy players finished the regular season at the top of the table for a third successive season, and have booked their place in a home Grand Final against Wigan Warriors.
Our 2024 Saints Academy intake are:
- Luke Brighouse – Centre – Blackbrook Royals
- Jack Campbell – Fullback – Halton Farnworth Hornets
- Noah Carter – Winger – Newton Storm/Woolston
- Leon Johnson – Prop – Woolston Rovers
- Oscar Knox – Backrower – Birstall Victoria

Speaking about our newest Saints Academy players, Academy Head Coach Derek Traynor said: “It is fantastic to have twelve talented young men take their next steps in their journeys with the Saints Academy for the next two years.
“What we are about as a Club is developing youngsters and turning them into not just better players on field, but better people off it too and players like: Jack Welsby, Morgan Knowles, Lewis Dodd, George Delaney, Noah Stephens, Harry Robertson to name just a few are examples of that.
“Our Academy staff, and the Club as a whole, are excited to work with and see how this cohort of Academy Saints develop in our environment.”
