VOTE! Women’s Try of the Season 2024!

We've picked four of our favorite tries from our double winning Women's season in 2024 for you to pick from for our Try of the Season!

Up first is Phoebe Hook. Still relatively new to the squad, but one of the first names on the team sheet, her try against the York Valkyrie as we set ourselves on our way to Wembley this year in Doncaster at the Women’s Challenge Cup Semi-Final, was an absolute pearler. Through the hands and out to her on the wing, but she still had work to do, beating the fullback, and a cover tackle to touch down.

Up next, Faye Gaskin. In what was her last Women’s Challenge Cup appearance, in the final at Wembley, and with the game locked at 0-0, up she stepped with a gamebreaking play. Taking the ball to the line and putting a step on the Leeds pack, she cut right through the line to touch down just to the right of the post.

Dani McGifford is our third option for the season, a rotation option for most of the season, but averaging more than two tries an appearance, she’s stepped up every time she was called on. Up against the Warrington Wolves at home, she found herself with the ball on the wing just over the halfway line with defenders to beat, and did she ever beat them!

Finally, this effort from our top try scorer Leah Burke. The ball went through the hands to Jodie Cunningham, who found Megan Williams, who in turn played it out to the wing for Leah. She hit the accelerator and broke away, a change of direction beating the center who she went around the outside of, before cutting uinside and powerign over the fullback to touch down!
