The Saints can unfortunately confirm that Leah Burke has suffered an ACL injury which was picked up during the 2024 Betfred Women's Super League Grand Final last Sunday evening.
It is sadly the second ACL injury that Burke has suffered in the past 18 months, having done also suffered one in June 2023 against Wigan Warriors at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Leah will have surgery in the coming weeks, and will be supported by the Club during her rehab.
Unfortunately, the injury rules Burke out of England Women’s international match against Wales at the start of November, as well as England Women’s Las Vegas trip to take on Australia in March 2025.
Our #5 scored for the Saints during our Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final defeat to York Valkyrie, suffering the injury later on in that game but completing the full eighty minutes.
Burke was in sensational form during the 2024 campaign for the Red V, scoring an impressive 32 tries in 16 games across all competitions for St.Helens Women.

The Club would like to wish Leah all the best with her recovery, and we cannot wait to see her back on the pitch again soon!
