As the excitement builds towards the start of the 2025 rugby league season, the Saints were thrilled to welcome to our home, the Totally Wicked Stadium, our First Team Kit Partners and Player Sponsors for an exclusive day full of insight.
Kindly hosted thanks to our Principal Club Partners Home Bargains, who have extended their sponsorship of the Club until the end of 2027, the event was a chance for our commercial partners to get behind-the-scenes insights of the Saints’ prep for Betfred Super League 2025.
Starting off the proceedings, those in attendance got to watch an exclusive behind closed doors training session on the Totally Wicked Stadium pitch. They got to see our Head Coach Paul Wellens and his two new Assistant Coaches Lee Briers and Eamon O’Carroll working on plays and drills with the team.
Compered by the Saints’ incomparable Matchday Corporate Host Pete Emmett, the Saints’ sponsors observed the session before sitting down to a wonderful lunch as the players came off the field to take their official annual Club photo head shots for the year ahead.
As lunch service came to a close, Ben Hardman, Business Manager of Saints Community Development Foundation, joined Emmett on stage to detail the vital work the SCDF delivers in our region, and thanked many of our club partners who have given their support of the charitable arm of St.Helens R.F.C.
Leadership, Culture & Performance Coach James Roby then shared his perspective of the Pre-Season so far, before Wellens, Briers and O’Carroll took to the stage to give our commercial partners a true unique insight into the work they and our players have been doing to hopefully make it a successful 2025 for the Saints.

Our 35-man First Team squad then made their entrance into the 1873 Lounge to meet, thank and network with their individual Player Sponsors for the season ahead. Host Pete Emmett then kindly invited each member of the squad to the stage with their sponsor for an official photograph, and present them their printed player shirt.
The Saints’ Kit Partners then joined the players and Coaching Staff into the stands for the annual team photo, taken in the stands due to the adverse weather.

The weather eased just enough for the First Team to get the traditional annual team photograph taken on the pitch, with the iconic sight of the ‘SAINTS’ spelled out in our seats, in the Totally Wicked North Stand as a backdrop.
St.Helens R.F.C. would like to say a huge thank you to our Principal Club Partners Home Bargains for hosting this event!

The Club would also like to take this time to thank once again our Kit Partners for their support in 2025 – Totally Wicked, Critical Business Solutions (CBS), Belgravia, A Star Recruitment, St.Helens College, Node4, EFT Group, Gorilla Glue, Biffa, ELCONS and ASW Solicitors.
