There are four matches for St.Helens to look forward to this week, including the Academy Derby against our oldest foes!

Our Scholarship side begin the week’s action by bringing the curtain down on their 2025 season over in Leeds.
On Saturday afternoon, the Totally Wicked Stadium will host the Academy Derby between St.Helens and Wigan – a game not to be missed!
Then on Sunday, both our Women’s Academy and Women’s First Team take the short trip to Warrington to face the Wolves.

WEDNESDAY
Scholarship vs Leeds Rhinos (A)
It is the final match of the Under 16s season, and our youngest Saints team are heading over to West Yorkshire for a clash with Leeds Rhinos at AMT Headingley Stadium.
Both clubs have a strong history of developing young rugby league talent, so it should make for a fascinating match.
The Saints will be aiming to finish the campaign on a high, after losing out in their final home match of the year against Hull FC a fortnight ago.
Our Scholars play an eight match season, and so far have three victories to their record, and will be eager to end the year by making it four.

SATURDAY
Academy vs Wigan Warriors (H)
It is Academy Derby Day on Saturday afternoon at the Totally Wicked Stadium!
Local bragging rights are on the line as our storied and fiery rivalry gets ignited once more by our Under 18s team. Both Saints and Wigan are fiercely proud of the rugby league talent produced that has come through both our Academy setups, and gone on to become key men in our First Teams. Academy Derby matches are often the chance to see players who will be lining up in Super League matches in the not too distant future.
The Saints Academy had their five-match winning run ended last time out, losing away to current table toppers Leeds Rhinos. Our Red V Under 18s hold a record of five wins and three losses going into Saturday’s fixture.
The Warriors hold the same win/loss record, and currently are a place above the Saints in the Academy Championship table by points difference alone.
It should be a brilliant matchup, between two terrific young teams, and we want as many of the Saints faithful in the stands at our home as possible!

SUNDAY
Women vs Warrington Wolves (A)
Unbeaten in the Betfred Women’s Super League, the Saints Women take on Warrington Wolves in the second match of a double header at Victoria Park.
Craig Richards and Derek Hardman’s S-Women ran riot at home last Sunday against Leigh Leopards, in what was the first ever meeting between the two sides. 15 tries were scored, with no reply. That result made it back-to-back victories for St.Helens, and they could make it three straight victories on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints and the Wolves have already faced off twice in 2025, firstly in the Challenge Cup Group Stage during April, and then in the league in June. Both those fixtures were played at the Totally Wicked Stadium, and comfortably won in strong style by St.Helens.

Women’s Academy vs Warrington Wolves (A)
The Saints Women’s Under 19s side are the opening act of a double header over at Warrington’s Victoria Park.
Last Sunday, our development players were taking on Featherstone Rovers and were 10-0 with just over ten minutes played. A serious injury to a Rovers player brought the game to a pause so she could get the correct level of medical care. After a prolonged stoppage, the game was then called off and abandoned. The Club was pleased to learn late on Sunday night the young Fev player was sore, but it was ultimately nothing serious.
Now, itching to get back to playing, our Women’s Academy Saints head over to Warrington, with the aim of securing a second win of the season over the Wolves Women’s Academy.
Graham Cranny’s Saints grabbed their first win of the year, 26-0 against Warrington, at Blackbrook in the middle of June. Can they make it a double over the Wire?
