St.Helens outside back Jon Bennison has joined Betfred Championship side Widnes Vikings on an initial two-week loan.

The 22-year-old has made 12 appearances for St.Helens’ First Team in the 2025 season so far, the last of which came in May at Magic Weekend, however, Jon has been named a number of times as 18th player on match days.
Comfortable playing on the wing or at fullback, Bennison has been playing for the Saints Reserves too, putting a strong display last time out with a try and slotting over seven conversions from seven attempts.
Widnes are currently 9th in the Betfred Championship, and are chasing a play-off place with seven matches of the campaign to go. Currently they find themselves six points adrift of the top six places in the league table.
The Vikings have been dealing with a number of injuries, so Bennison stepping into their squad is a big boost, and gives Jon more competitive match minutes. Over the next two weeks Widnes will face Sheffield Eagles away this Sunday, followed by a home match with Batley Bulldogs.
