The Saints head into the fixture on the back of a week off due to Betfred Super League’s split round of fixtures for Round 20. The small break was a welcome one for Wellens and his men, with players edging closer to a return, if not this week, in the weeks to come.
Castleford go into the split round on the back of one of their best performances of the season, beating Warrington Wolves at home. That result will likely give them some confidence, and knowing how the Tigers can threaten in attack, Wellens expects a tough challenge come Friday night.
