St.Helens Women's teammates Vicky Whitfield and Shona Hoyle will be rival captains in this Saturday's Women's Origin Fixture at Sewell Group Craven Park!
Shona will lead out here native Yorkshire team, whilst Whitfield will step up as Lancashire captain following the late withdrawal of England & St.Helens Women’s captain Jodie Cunningham.
The Saints’ #13 tweaked her hamstring during training on Wednesday evening, however remains hopeful of being fit to lead England against Wales at The Lextan Gnoll in Neath next Saturday.
The starting thirteens for both regional teams have now been confirmed too.
Hoyle is one of three Saints included in the White Rose side starting at prop, with Phoebe Hook on the wing and Caitlin Casey at hooker.
Whitfield is joined in the front row by Saints hooker Katie Mottershead, and fellow prop Darcy Stott, with Emily Rudge in the back-row. Rachael Woosey, Luci McColm and Beri Salihi are on the Red Rose team’s interchange bench.

It is an Origin double-header at Sewell Group Craven Park on Saturday, 2nd August with the second Academy Origin clash of the year kicking off first at 12pm, followed by the Women’s match at 2pm.
