Delaney & Sironen issued Penalty Points following Wakefield away

St.Helens players George Delaney & Curtis Sironen have both been charged by the Match Review Panel following last Friday night's Betfred Super League Round 21 match against Wakefield Trinity.

St.Helens went to the DIY Kitchens Stadium for the fixture, coming away with a 4-34 victory.

Young Saints prop George Delaney was shown a yellow card and was off the field for ten minutes in the sin bin following a tackle on a Wakefield man. Delaney has now been issued 5 Penalty Points for a Grade C ‘Head Contact’ offence, his first points of the 2025 season, meaning his total Penalty Points from the past twelve months is now logged as 5 points. The Saints’ #19 has also been issued a fine.

Back-rower Curtis Sironen has been cited by the MRP for a Grade A ‘Late contact on passer’ charge, and has been issued 1 Penalty Point. That takes Sironen’s tally in the last twelve months to 2 Penalty Points, but there is no further sanction.

Charges are under the new on-field sentencing guidelines, which have been introduced for 2025.
