St.Helens outside back Jon Bennison has extended his loan with Betfred Championship side Widnes Vikings for the remainder of the 2025 season, however, the Saints will hold a recall option as we head towards the closing period of the Betfred Super League campaign.

The 22-year-old joined the Vikings at the end of July on an initial two-week loan, which has now been extended. So far, Bennison has performed strongly for Widnes playing in their two victories over Sheffield Eagles and Batley Bulldogs. Last Sunday against the Bulldogs, ‘Benno’ bagged two try assists as the Vikings secured a 30-10 win.
Widnes are currently 9th in the Betfred Championship, and are chasing a play-off place with five matches of the campaign to go. Currently they find themselves just four points adrift of the top six places in the league table.
Bennison has made 12 appearances for St.Helens’ First Team in the 2025 season so far, the last of which came in May at Magic Weekend, however, Jon has been named a number of times as 18th player for Saints’ match days.
