Our Saints week begins on Friday evening with the Academy team taking on Bradford Bulls in a curtain raiser, in what is their penultimate regular season round. The main event on Friday night is an important clash in the Betfred Super League Play-Offs, as our First Team host Hull FC!

On Saturday afternoon, the Red V Women welcome Barrow Raiders Ladies to the Totally Wicked Stadium.

All you need to know for our three games this week is detailed below.

FRIDAY

Academy vs Bradford Bulls (H)

There are just two matches left in the Saints’ Under 18s season, and this Friday evening they will open up our double header at the Totally Wicked Stadium for their final regular season round!

With two rounds to go, the Saints Academy are sat in fourth place, just inside the Academy Play-Offs positions. Come the end of the regular season, the top four sides in the competition will then go into the Semi-Finals (1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd) and the winners of those will go into the Academy Grand Final.

Our young Saints went over to Wakefield and put on an impressive 4-53 victory at the DIY Kitchens Stadium, stopping a two-match losing run as well.

So far in the 2025 campaign, our Under 18s’ have six wins and four losses. Meanwhile, the Bulls have two wins and seven losses to their record so far, so will be keen to stem a four-match losing run themselves.

First Team vs Hull FC (H)

Our First Team Saints have won their last three matches, the latest of which last Sunday afternoon over Huddersfield moved the team into third place in the Betfred Super League table with five rounds of the regular season to go.

It’s a tight turnaround and the big games keep coming as St.Helens will take on Hull FC who are also pushing for the top six places in the league table. They come into this match after securing an important win over Leigh last time out, and cruising past a struggling Salford team a fortnight ago.

This will be the second meeting of the season between the Red V and the Black & Whites. The first went the way of the Saints back in July, with Jonny Lomax ensuring the away day victory late on slotting over a one-point drop goal for a 6-13 finish.

Friday night will also double up as the second leg of The Steve Prescott Cup. The annual contest between Saints and Hull is played over the regular season meetings between the two sides, with the team who has the highest aggregate score across the home and away fixtures winning the trophy.

SATURDAY

Women vs Barrow Raiders Ladies (H)

St.Helens Women will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Betfred Women’s Super League campaign.

Derek Hardman & Craig Richards’ Saints secured a fourth successive victory last Sunday afternoon by beating Huddersfield Giants Women at home, 48-0. The result ensured that the Red V are keeping the pressure on the current league leaders Wigan who had a one point advantage as we head into Round 11 of the WSL.

The Saints went up to Barrow in June, one week removed from the Women’s Challenge Cup Final, and came away from Cumbria with a 6-40 victory over the Raiders. Now they come to our ground, and the Saints will be keen to keep that unbeaten run rolling.
