It's Derby Week! We have three matches against Wigan coming up this week, with a massive Derby Day Double Header on Friday night.

The exciting week of derbies against Wigan kicks off on Wednesday night at Blackbrook with our Women’s Under 19s.
If you have not yet secured your ticket for Friday night, do not delay! It promises to be a blockbuster night of Rugby League, with the Women’s Derby up first as 1st take on 2nd in the Betfred Women’s Super League, followed by the Men’s First Team showdown in Round 25 of the Betfred Super League.

WEDNESDAY
Women’s Academy vs Wigan Warriors (H)
Our Under 19s Women’s team are on a tight turnaround after playing their first match since the end of July last Sunday afternoon. They took on York and came up just short, losing out 10-14.
With potentially just two matches remaining in the 2025 season (potentially three should the Huddersfield match be re-scheduled), Graham Cranny’s youngsters will be out to finish with a flourish, and beat our local foes at Blackbrook on Wednesday night.
Our development Saints are seeking their fourth victory of the campaign.

FRIDAY
Women vs Wigan Warriors (H)
A top of the table clash, 1st versus 2nd.
The Saints are unbeaten in the Betfred Women’s Super League in 2025, but know in order to successfully make it back-to-back League Leaders’ Shields, their toughest challenge of the season is coming to our house.
Wigan ran hot at Wembley Stadium to end the Red V’s four-year hold on the Challenge Cup in June, and until a fortnight ago had not lost one match in the season. However, a defeat to York has seen the Saints go top of the table and there are just two rounds of the regular season remaining.
The last time Saints Women and Wigan Women met, it was a thriller which ended as a 22-22 draw at the end of June. With both sides wanting to finish at the top, and lay down a marker before the Play-Offs, this will be a match not to be missed.
We urge our supporters to get down to the ground early to cheer our Saints Women on!

First Team vs Wigan Warriors (H)
Rivals Round Returns, with the first meeting between St.Helens and Wigan Warriors since Easter.
The Saints are now in the midst of The Final Charge, the run-in before the Play-Offs and teams continue to fight and jockey for position. There are not many league points and just points difference is moving clubs up and down the table, with three rounds to go.
Paul Wellens’ men went to the league leaders Hull KR last Friday night and narrowly lost out 12-8, ending a four-match winning run. A win would be a big boost as we head to the post-season knockout stages. It would also be a small bit of revenge, after losing the Good Friday contest 24-14 in April.
Wigan have earned back-to-back wins over Wakefield and then Catalans last weekend, and come to our ground looking to get a home and away win over Saints in 2025.
