For the third successive month in a row, Owen Dagnall has been chosen as the winner of the Saints’ Try of the Month!
Whilst Harry Robertson ran him close in the poll with his full length try from the same game, it was Owen’s simply incredible score against Castleford that won the vote by 0.5%!
During the second half of a dominant performance over the Tigers, the ball was worked out to Dagnall on the right wing by our own 40m line. Owen then moved back into the middle of the field and by Castleford’s 30m line he kicked ahead to the left corner, over the Tigers fullback. Chasing his own kick as the ball ran closer to running out of the field of play, ‘Daggers’ leapt to dive on the ball in-goal for an astonishing finish!
The Saints Women’s Try of the Month for August 2025 goes to Beri Salihi for her score against Huddersfield Giants at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Comfortably ahead early in the second half 22-0, Saints wanted to keep posting points against the West Yorkshire side. From our own 40m line prop Erin McDonald as she was tackled got an offload away to hooker Katie Mottershead, and the number nine escaped a low tackle before bursting through the middle and up to the Giants’ 40m line where fullback Beri Salihi supported the run. Salihi on the run managed to out pace England international Amelia Brown and score right under the sticks.
