World Suicide Prevention Day 2025

St.Helens R.F.C. supports World Suicide Prevention Day 2025 with The Zero Suicide Alliance.

Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland dies by suicide, and 1 in 4 people have had suicidal thoughts.

It can affect anyone, but it disproportionately affects men, being the single biggest killer of men under the age of 50 in the UK.

Wednesday, 10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day, and at Saints, we want to encourage everyone to look out for their mates.

You may have noticed at the Wigan game that there were posters around the stadium, with information and links to different places that you can go to, to get help if you are feeling down yourself, or you are worried about your mate.

The Zero Suicide Alliance offer free online training for anyone who wants to learn a little bit more about how you can help someone who may have suicidal thoughts. It takes around 30 minutes to complete the training, and we are asking everyone to consider taking this time out of your day, to get the tools that we can all use to keep one another safe.

This article has a photo of Agnatius Paasi and James Bell completing the free training via The Zero Suicide Alliance.

Be like Iggy and Belly, click on the link below to access the training, it might just save someone’s life!
