After a promising season for the Red Vee, with just one loss all season, we went into this one high on confidence, but knowing it would be a tough game against the league leaders and Challenge Cup winners.
We went into the game in good form too, having beaten third placed York at home in the semi final, and having put 44 points on Leigh the week before.
Wigan however would also go into the game in good form. A big win over Leeds in their Play-Off Semi-Final, and a win over us at our ground just three weeks prior had them as favourites, on top of finishing the season as league leaders and Challenge Cup winners.
It was sure to be a tough, and hard fought contest, and with just four points separating us over the two league games between us this season, it could have gone either way.
