St.Helens Women held their annual presentation evening following the conclusion of the 2025 season!
Our Women’s team and Coaching Staff were joined in The PSD 1873 Lounge at the Totally Wicked Stadium by our brilliant Club Partners and Player Sponsors as we reflected on the 2025 Women’s season.
Seven awards were up for grabs on the night, with seven different Saints being awarded trophies.
Former Saint Mike Bennett began the night by firstly thanking our Club Partners and Player Sponsors, and then welcomed the team into the room but saved Naomi Williams until last as her teammates formed a guard of honour.
Under 19s Player of the Season
Following our Saints Women’s Academy’s first competitive season, coach Graham Cranny shared how impressive Eleanor Davis has been in our youth ranks.
Scoring some brilliant tries and showing real effort and application in training, she deservedly took home the award for 2025.
Our Women’s Academy’s top try-scorer is rightly being tipped to make the step up into the Women’s First Team in the future!
This Is Saints Award
In recognition of all the often unnoticed efforts by most people, but not your teammates and coaches, the This Is Saints Award is given to a person who sets the standards, and goes above and beyond with their work.
Vicky Whitfield became the second recipient of this prize for the Saints Women’s team, after an impressive 2025 campaign – the best try-scoring season of her Saints career so far!
The prop has been one of the premier forwards in the Women’s game.
Try of the Season Award
Following a supporter vote held on the Saints Women’s social media accounts which shortlisted four of our very best tries scored in the season, it was Beri Salihi’s brilliant four-pointer against Huddersfield Giants at home that was selected!
After a great offload by Erin McDonald, Katie Mottershead managed to break a tackle and then pinch metres in the middle, she would flick a pass inside to Salihi who raced half the field, beating the chasing Giants players for a great try!
Young Player of the Season
Our young prop Erin McDonald stepped up to make her mark in the front row by making 15 appearances in the season. Some standout performances came later in the season too, especially in the Semi-Final and Grand Final against York and Wigan respectively.
The tall forward is looking like a promising prop of the future for the Red V!
Members Player of the Season
Our #7 has had another strong campaign, guiding the team around the field and coming up with some clutch moments in matches, Faye Gaskin was chosen by our 2025 Saints Members for this highly sought-after award.
Players’ Player of the Season
Voted for by the Saints Women’s players, Rachael Woosey received this coveted prize, with her peers rewarding her best season for the Saints yet!
Woosey has been sensational in the centres, playing her part in Dani McGifford finishing as Betfred Women’s Super League’s top try-scorer for 2025 with a whole host of assists!
Player of the Season
It has been an outstanding season for Katie Mottershead who was chosen by the Saints Women’s coaches for the big prize.
Taking over from Tara Jones in the #9 shirt, Katie made the jersey her own with Player of the Match performances throughout 2025. Her evasive runs created many opportunities to attack, and caused opposition teams chaos.
Big tries such as in the Women’s Super League Semi-Final further cemented the England hooker as one of the very best in her position in the women’s game.
