Ahead of the Second Round of the 2026 Betfred Challenge Cup, St.Helens R.F.C. would like to wish both Blackbrook ARLFC and Thatto Heath Crusaders the best of luck for their fixtures!
Two proud local community clubs from our town are taking on Betfred Championship sides with the hopes of progressing and reaching the next stage of Rugby League’s oldest knockout competition.
Saints supporters will be keeping a keen eye on the Blackbrook fixture as they take on Workington, and following the Third Round draw, our First Team will take on the winner in a fortnight.
Former ‘Brookers’, now Saints, Jack Welsby, Deon Cross, George Whitby and Jake Wingfield shared a good luck message to the team and the club ahead of their exciting clash with the Cumbrian side.

Meanwhile, Thatto Heath will welcome local neighbours and former ‘Cup Kings’ Widnes Vikings to a sold-out Crusader Park. The victor of that match will take on Leeds Rhinos in the Third Round.
Captain Matty Lees, Alex Walmsley, and Assistant Coach Lee Briers sent on the Red V’s good luck message to Thatto.
