At our Media Day at BrewDog Liverpool, we caught up with David Klemmer to discuss all things Saints, and his excitement for the season ahead!
Following his first game at The BrewDog Stadium, David spoke about our new partnership with the multinational brewery and pub chain, and how great the deal can be for both sides, especially as the game, and us as a club try to expand into Liverpool with this season’s Magic Weekend being hosted at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
With the celebrations for Matty Lees Testimonial season well underway, his Testimonial game the previous weekend was David’s first chance to play with the team, and he believes they know what he brings now, and he knows how hard this team works. David was full of praise for Matty in particular, saying how great of a player he is and how much he’s going to enjoy playing with him this year.
On his motivations for the season, he said that there’s definitely something inside him that keeps pushing him in training, and that desire to win trophies is still there for him, but also working with all our younger players gives him a spark competing with them and helping them develop.
Our first Super League game is fast approaching away from home against the Warrington Wolves, and we’ve almost sold out of our allocation of tickets which is exciting for David, he said he’s been made aware of what the atmosphere will be like, and he’s very excited to get out there and put a marker down for the year ahead.
