Following our victory away from home in Round Three of the Challenge Cup at Workington, Paul Rowley spoke to the press to discuss the game.
He said he thought it was a professional performance from the team, dealing with what was difficult circumstances in different ways. The mental toughness, character and professionalism from the side we specifically mentioned by our head coach.
New signing Jackson Hastings was selected ad Player of the Match for the game, and Paul said he thought that was right as he controlled the game, but he also thought that we had a number of players who played well, with the pack setting the platform, and the spine all playing well.
Matty Lees went off in the first half with what looked like a knee issue, but Paul said that he is cautiously optimistic about it, but updates will be given as the situation develops.
Finally, Paul spoke on the game itself saying that the occasion was great, and the scenes at the end of the game are what the sport is about. He also thanked Workington for the respect they showed us throughout the occasion.
