Saints’ 21-man squad for Round 1

Head Coach Paul Rowley has named his 21-man St.Helens squad for the opening round of the 2026 Betfred Super League season against Warrington Wolves.

The match takes place at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday, 13th February, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.

It is a thrilling opening fixture against one of our local rivals and will be played in front of what is expected to be a sold-out crowd. St.Helens’ allocation of away tickets for Round 1 sold out weeks ago, as anticipation for the new campaign continued to build.

This opening game of the Saints’ Super League season also marks Paul Rowley’s first league fixture in charge since taking over as Head Coach. He led the Red V to a dominant victory over Workington Town last Friday night to progress to the Fourth Round of the Betfred Challenge Cup, scoring 17 tries in the process.

Friday night’s fixture will be the first time since 2014 that St.Helens and Warrington have met in the opening round of Super League. That encounter 12 years ago saw the Saints claim an impressive 38–8 victory at the home of the Wolves.

Sam Burgess’ Warrington side, playing on home soil, will also be determined to make a strong start to the 2026 season and impress their supporters.
