St.Helens Head Coach Paul Rowley speaks to Saints TV following his side's 4-36 victory at the Stade Gilbert Brutus over the Catalans Dragons.
The Saints boss described it as a tough, hard-earned result rather than a perfect performance.
Expecting a reaction from the hosts, Rowley felt his side had to dig in, especially during a tight first half. While he believes there is still plenty of room for improvement in the group, he was pleased to see them win and limit the Catalans to a single try.
Highlighted the team’s defensive resolve and territorial control, built on a simple approach of kicking well, chasing hard and defending with discipline, which allowed players to adapt to positional changes amid ongoing injury challenges.
He also noted the significance of the occasion, including Darryl’s 350th appearance and the backing of the travelling supporters, who he felt were rewarded with a result that made it a good day all round for the Club.
