St.Helens back-rower Jacob Host reflects on his first try for the Club in the Saints' 4-36 victory over Catalans Dragons.
It was a night to remember in France for ‘Hosty’ after barging over from close range after a sharp piece of play from milestone man Daryl Clark. Jacob shared that he and our number nine had been working on it during training, with just a look given to put the play on.
Host spoke about the motivation within the group to honour Clark’s 350th Super League match with a good performance. He highlighted the England international’s remarkable consistency at the top level and said it was fitting he crossed for two tries on such a significant night.
Beyond the scoreboard, Host pointed to the value of time spent together going to France, bonding as a unit and that connection is beginning to show in combinations on the field, with players holding each other to high standards.
With Bradford next up back at home our #14 is expecting another strong challenge but sees a real opportunity to build momentum. He also made sure to acknowledge the travelling Saints supporters who made the trip.
