WEDNESDAY
Saints Reserves & Academy vs British Army Rugby League (A) – The Capital Challenge 2026
Taking place in London at the prestigious and historic venue that is the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC), a young Saints outfit will be taking on the British Army 1st XIII in The Capital Challenge. Our players have a fantastic chance to experience a longer-distance away fixture outside the traditional rugby league heartlands. They’ll also get to test their skills against some of the Army’s best players.
The Capital Challenge is part of the Club’s ongoing working relationship with British Army Rugby League, and is a charitable and engagement event between the military and rugby league, with two matches to be played on the day, followed by a formal reception in the evening; a showcase of the sport of Rugby League in the Capital.
This event will be raising money for two charitable causes; the Royal British Legion (RBL) and the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

First Team vs Castleford Tigers (A)
Throughout the year, St Helens R.F.C. will be celebrating our 1996 team, that historic year which saw the Saints achieve an historic Double by winning both the inaugural Super League and the Challenge Cup. Thirty years later, fittingly, the Saints and Castleford will meet again in the Fourth Round, mirroring the 1996 Cup competition.
Paul Rowley’s men secured their place at this stage of the Cup with a professional performance against Workington Town, running out 2-98 victors up in West Cumbria. The Saints have won their last three league matches, including a hard-fought victory over Bradford last Saturday.
Ryan Carr’s Tigers team reached this stage of the knockout competition after defeating Doncaster in early February. Their league form has been mixed, with only one win in their last four matches, coming against Huddersfield two weeks ago.
