A place in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup is on the line this Friday night, as Saints host Catalans Dragons in a high-stakes quarter-final clash under the lights.
Both sides come into the contest full of confidence following impressive derby victories in Rivals Round last week.
Saints produced a stunning comeback on Good Friday, overturning a 14-point deficit to claim a memorable 34-24 win over Wigan. Meanwhile, Catalans secured bragging rights in the French derby, running out 33-26 winners against Toulouse at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.
Paul Rowley’s side booked their place in the last eight with a convincing 32-8 victory away at Castleford Tigers in Round Four. Catalans were equally dominant in their previous outing in the competition, recording a 58-0 win over Championship side Oldham.
This marks the first meeting between Saints and Catalans in the Challenge Cup since 2022, when the two sides also met at the quarter-final stage. On that occasion, Saints emerged 36-20 winners in Perpignan, a result they will be hoping to replicate as they aim to progress once again.
With momentum on both sides and a semi-final spot up for grabs, all the ingredients are in place for a compelling cup tie. Expect intensity, physicality, and a fierce battle as Saints and Catalans go head-to-head for a place in the final four.
