St.Helens’ Cup Semi-Final Squad News

Head Coach Paul Rowley has announced his 21-man Saints squad ahead of Saturday afternoon's Betfred Challenge Cup Semi-Final.

St.Helens First Team 21-man squad announcements are sponsored by R Whittle Ltd.

The Saints will face Wigan Warriors at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington on Saturday, 9th May, with kick-off scheduled for 2:30pm.

To the winner go the spoils, as the victor will progress to the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 30th May 2026.

Our Saints began their Challenge Cup campaign back in early February with a dominant 2-98 win away at Workington Town, their first meeting in 30 years. A tough fourth round tie followed at Castleford, where a gritty display secured an 8-32 victory. In the quarter finals, Rowley’s men delivered a professional performance to beat Catalans Dragons 36-4 at the BrewDog Stadium and book their place in the final four.

Heading into this fixture, the Red V are on a five-match winning run which started on Good Friday against our semi-final opponents, Wigan. In what was a thriller, St.Helens fought back to win The Derby with four tries scored inside the final ten minutes. The Saints are very aware that the Warriors will be out for revenge after that result at Easter.

📰 SQUAD NEWS

Rowley makes just two changes to the squad that was victorious over York Knights last Friday night in the league.

Deon Cross and Lewis Murphy are both available for selection following injuries.

Cross has followed return-to-play protocols after a failed Head Injury Assessment (HIA) during our visit to Hull FC. Our #5 has missed the last two matches but is now good to play once again. Murphy suffered a dislocated elbow injury in St.Helens’ quarter-final win over Catalans Dragons, but is now fit and able to play if selected on Saturday.

Kyle Feldt, who unfortunately failed his HIA during the match against York, is stood down and following return-to-play protocols. Hull KR loanee Bill Leyland has returned to his parent club following his try-scoring appearance for the Saints last week.
