Young Saints Jacob Douglas and George Whitby have joined Salford RLFC on short-term loans.
Jacob Douglas is proudly sponsored by Cultivate Creative.
George Whitby is proudly sponsored by S&R Fire Protection Ltd.
The pair both played for our Saints Reserves team against Huddersfield Giants last Friday night, both scoring two tries, with Whitby adding three conversions in a thrilling 26-26 draw.
Jacob and George will potentially get the chance to play more match minutes in a competitive Betfred Championship match, as Salford head to Halifax Panthers on Sunday afternoon, kicking off at 3pm.
Speedy winger Douglas returned to the Saints following what was agreed to be a season-long loan with the Huddersfield Giants, however they ended the loan early. During his time with the West Yorkshire club, Jacob made four match appearances and scored twice.
Half-back Whitby has played six times for the Saints First Team in the 2026 season so far, the most recent of which was in our home victory over Wakefield Trinity during April.
Douglas and Whitby both come into contention for selection for Salford’s new Head Coach Dave Hewitt, following the confirmation of his appointment in that role for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The Saints would like to wish Jacob and George the best of luck for their loan with Salford.
