Richards gives an update on the Saints Women’s squad, confirming he and Derek Hardman have some selection choices to make and that the players are feeling ready to go after last weekend’s tough away win over York Valkyrie.
Pleased with how the Saints got the victory over York, he described it as good preparation for the big occasion.
Saints and Wigan both head into the final unbeaten so far in early season, and Richards expects a close contest between two sides that have become regular rivals in the game’s biggest matches in the last two seasons.
Despite last year’s Challenge Cup Final defeat, Richards said the team moved on quickly and are fully focused on this season’s opportunities, with this first chance at silverware coming at Wembley.
