St.Helens welcomes ‘March Of The Day 3’ MND fundraiser

The six-day, 340-mile charity walk began on Monday (1st June) and sees the fundraising group visit 45 football and rugby league grounds to support the Darby Rimmer Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Foundation, and the Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Two core teams will cover the entire walk, with smaller groups taking on stages throughout the six days, and over 1,000 people taking part, including a host of former football and rugby league players.

Day one of the walk began at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium and went to Everton’s Goodison Park, Hill Dickinson Stadium and various other stops before finishing the first day at the Home of the Saints, the BrewDog Stadium.

St.Helens First Team players George Whitby and Jake Davies were part of the welcoming party that congratulated the walkers who completed the 34.41 challenge of the day.

The two players were a welcome sight to Saints’ Matchday Corporate Host Pete Emmett, who like the rest of the participants, was drenched through due to the rain. Also part of the team were former Liverpool players Chris Kirkland and Rickie Lambert.

Davies & Whitby presented to the team a signed 2026 St.Helens First Team shirt and scarf as a small token to assist their fundraising efforts.
