Injury update: Owen Dagnall

Regrettably, the Saints confirm that Owen Dagnall has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and will need surgery.

Owen Dagnall is proudly sponsored by D.Hoult Joinery at St.Helens R.F.C.

Our speedy outside back picked up the injury in the second half of the Saints’ home Betfred Super League Round 18 match against Toulouse Olympique on Sunday afternoon at the BrewDog Stadium.

Following scans, it has confirmed that Owen has suffered an ACL rupture injury which will sadly end the 20-year-old’s 2026 season with the Saints.

So far to his record, Dagnall has played 29 times for the Red V, 17 of which have come this season as he stepped up to try to make the wing spot his own.

The next steps for Dagnall will be surgery, which the Club will look to arrange as soon as possible so that he can begin his rehabilitation.

As always with our players’ injuries, the Club will give Owen our full support, and everyone involved at St.Helens looks forward to seeing him back on the field.

Owen Dagnall said: “I’m absolutely gutted about the news, but I’m going to do everything I can to get back as soon as possible.

“I want to just say a quick thank you to the fans who have sent me get well messages, I really appreciate it.”

We are with you on your road to recovery, Daggers.
